Ma Bèl: My Beautiful

Bi-Weekly · Times & Locations Vary

Joy
Joy · Community Host

Wellness from every avenue. For us, by us.

Ma Bèl (French Creole for "My Beautiful") is a dedicated space for Black women in their 30s and 40s. This is about more than surface-level health; it’s about the mental, physical, and spiritual work of becoming who we are now.

We come together to unlearn the scripts we were given and relearn what it means to be well. This is a space to grow, to have the hard conversations, and to simply have fun in a room that understands you.

Previous Events:

"What Did Mom Teach You About Beauty?": The Discussion + Facial Massage"

Mommy & Me: A Meet-up for Moms + Kids

Bi-Weekly · Times & Locations Vary

Naadi
Naadi · Community Host

A community for moms who want to give their kids amazing experiences without having to plan everything alone.

Bi-weekly meetups led by Naadi. Half the time, we're out with the kids—nature play, museum trips, creative workshops that actually keep them engaged. The other half, it's moms-only—happy hours, hangouts, real conversation that isn't about your kids.

No pressure to be "on." No pretending you have it all figured out. Just a group of moms doing the thing together instead of alone.

All ages welcome (for the kids). You welcome (as you are).

Crochet Club: Learn to Crochet

Weekly · Wednesdays · 6:30 PM CST

Johnny
Johnny · Community Host

Learn to crochet (or get better at it). Beginner-friendly, supplies included, actual humans to help when you mess up.

Wednesday, 6:30-7:30pm. Johnny teaches techniques and walks around fixing your mistakes in real-time. Some weeks you learn foundational skills (basic stitches, granny squares). Some weeks you make actual things (beanies, cardigans).

Drop in for topics you want, or come every week and build skills. All yarn, hooks, and materials provided. You take home everything you make.

Way better than fighting with YouTube tutorials alone on your couch.

Figuring Out What's Next: For Black Women & Femmes

Weekly · Wednesdays · 11:00 AM CST

Cake
Cake · City Experience Coordinator

A support community for Black women & femmes who've left the workplace—or been pushed out—and are figuring out what comes next.

Some weeks are coworking and admin days (tackle the stuff you've been avoiding). Some weeks are skill-building (professional headshots, resume audits, salary negotiation). Some weeks are real talk about workplace dynamics, pivots, and how to rebuild on your own terms.

This isn't a networking group. It's not a hustle harder space. It's a community for Black women & femmes resourcing themselves through the gap while they figure out what's next.

You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to show up.
