take a day for yourself — on purpose.

Sat Aug 15 · 10:00am – 4:15pm
A Studio in the Woods
13401 Patterson Rd, New Orleans, LA 70131

A full day on a sprawling, tree-lined retreat property most New Orleans locals have never been to. Moving outside in the meadow, eating together on the screened porch, having a real conversation about PCOS, and taking the kind of unstructured time that always gets pushed to later. This is a day designed to land. Women Only.

A Studio in the Woods is a private retreat property tucked into the West Bank, surrounded by old-growth trees and open meadows. It's the kind of place that slows you down the moment you arrive. This is where your day lives.

10:00 AM
Arrival + Sip and Settle
Park by the levee, follow the path onto the property, and step into the main house. Grab a build-your-own breakfast bowl (oatmeal, acai, or yogurt, plus toppings), pour something warm at the Sip and Settle coffee and matcha bar, and pick up a cold-pressed green juice on your way in. Take a beat at the Intention Wall to set the tone for your day, then settle in and start meeting the room.
10:45 AM
Movement in the Meadow with Stretch Galore
We move outside for 60 minutes of grounding movement led by Stretch Galore in the meadow. Please bring your own favorite yoga mat. The rest is set up for you.
11:45 AM
Communal Lunch
We gather to share a Mediterranean spread, with conversation prompts scattered across the tables to help the day slow down. The menu is deconstructed to easily accommodate vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free needs, so everyone eats well. This block is about eating together, hearing each other, and letting the afternoon start soft.
12:30 PM
Unstructured Time
This block belongs entirely to you. Two hours, five different ways to spend it. Wander between them, do all five, or pick one thing and go deep. You'll get a Field Guide at arrival with the full day laid out — session times, station locations, and everything you need to know so you can plan your two hours however feels good.
The Craft Corner
A big table set up with puzzles, LEGO sets, and bead-making supplies. Drop in, drop out, no pressure.
The Quiet Room
Soft music, essential oils, and a real spot to rest. Books on wellness, friendship, and becoming are laid out if you want to flip through something.
Slow Mail
Write yourself a letter for the version of you three months from now. We'll seal it, hold it, and mail it back on time. Then write a postcard to a friend and we'll mail that too.
Guided Forest Walks with Girls on Geaux
Short walks through the property led by Girls on Geaux, running multiple times throughout the block so you can pick your slot.
Breath Work with Black Women DO Heal
Guided breath work sessions led by the team from Black Women DO Heal, running throughout the block. Come as you are.
2:30 PM
Living Room Chat: Navigating PCOS
A real conversation with practitioners who actually know the terrain. Sit down for a small-group, panel-style discussion on the everyday challenges of living with PCOS: hormone shifts, symptom management, what your late 20s and 30s ask of your body, and how to build a wellness practice that supports you. No stuffy panels. No scripted Q&As. Just a group of women and a room of experts talking through it together.
3:15 PM
Community Service Give-Back
Thirty minutes to give something back to A Studio in the Woods, the property that opened its private grounds to us for the day. We'll roll up our sleeves for a small stewardship project alongside their team. Think light land maintenance, organizing library resources, or whatever they need most that day. Leaving a space a little better than we found it is one of our favorite ways to say thank you.
4:00 PM
Wellness Bag + Closing Circle
The soft landing. Move through the wellness bag station to build your take-home (a curated mix of goodies from us and our partners), seal any last letters to future-you or a friend, gather for a group photo, and share a few closing words together before you head home. Take your time trickling out. You've earned the day.
  • A future-self letter and a postcard to a friend, both sealed and mailed for you

    What should I wear?

Dress comfortably for an outdoor movement session. Think breathable activewear or athleisure you can move in. Because we'll be spending time on the property's trails and grounds, closed-toed shoes are highly recommended for anyone planning to be outside. Bring a change of clothes if you'd like to freshen up for the rest of the day, and don't forget your yoga mat.

What's included in the ticket price?

Your ticket covers the full day: the Sip and Settle breakfast and coffee/matcha bar, a movement session in the meadow led by Stretch Galore, a shared Mediterranean lunch, two hours of unstructured time with multiple stations to move between (Craft Corner, Quiet Room, Slow Mail, guided forest walks, and breath work with Black Women Heal), the Living Room Chat on PCOS, a stewardship give-back at A Studio in the Woods, and your wellness bag to take home. Your Field Guide arrives with you to walk you through it all. All you need to bring is yourself and a yoga mat.

What if I don't know anyone?

That's exactly why we're here. This experience is designed for women who show up solo and leave with plans. The day is structured to make connection feel natural. No awkward icebreakers, just good people and a good environment.

    How do I get there?
