New Orleans

Vinyl and Vino: Prince

purple wine, deeper cuts.

Sat Nov 7
Venue TBA · New Orleans

An intimate night of wine, vinyl, and deep Prince talk. You'll get assigned an era of his catalog, dig through the crates for the tracks that define it, and make the case for your picks to the room, playing the most popular track and your deep cut for everyone to hear. First up: Prince. Next time, a different artist entirely.

Think record store after hours — good wine, good company, and everyone geeking out over one artist for the night.

Arrival & Meet and Greet
Grab a glass of wine, jot down a Prince question for later in the night.
Introductions
Share your favorite album on wax, or whatever you bought most recently.
The Eras
Split into groups, each assigned a Prince era. Dig through the crates, pick an album, then play your most popular pick and your deep cut for the room, and make your case for both.
Vinyl Digging Break
Sift the store's stacks, buy something if it calls to you, or track down whoever influenced Prince or was influenced by him.
Final Era & Discussion
Last group makes their case, tracks and all. Open questions for the room.

Do I need to know a lot about Prince?

Not at all. Fans at any level are welcome — this is as much about learning as it is about what you already know.

Do I need to bring my own vinyl?

No, you'll be working from the record store's selection.

    Is wine included?

Yes, glass in hand from the start. Just bring your ears and an opinion.

Can I buy vinyl while I'm there?

Yes. Part of the night is digging through the store's stock, and buying is completely optional but encouraged.
